BBQ Burger

Ingredients

– 1 lb ground beef (80/20) – 4 burger buns – 1/2 cup BBQ sauce – 4 slices cheddar cheese – 1 red onion (sliced) – 1 tbsp olive oil – Lettuce leaves – Salt & pepper to taste – Pickles (optional)

Instructions

Form ground beef into 4 equal patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper. Press slightly in the center to prevent puffing during grilling.

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 3–4 minutes per side, or until desired doneness. Add cheese in the last minute.

While burgers cook, heat olive oil in a small pan. Add sliced onions and sauté until soft and lightly caramelized, about 5–6 minutes.

Toast burger buns face-down on the grill for 1–2 minutes until golden and crisp. This keeps them from getting soggy and adds a nice crunch.

Place the grilled patty with melted cheese on top of the lettuce. Add caramelized onions and pickles if using for extra flavor and crunch.

Finish with the top bun, press lightly, and serve hot! Pair your BBQ Burger with fries, coleslaw, or a crisp salad for a complete meal.
