Easy Overnight French Toast Recipe

Ingredients

– 1 loaf of French bread, cubed – 8 large eggs – 2 cups milk – 1/2 cup heavy cream – 3/4 cup sugar – 2 tsp vanilla extract – 1/2 tsp cinnamon – 1/4 tsp nutmeg – 1/4 tsp salt – 1/2 cup brown sugar – 1/2 cup butter, melted

Instructions

Grease a baking dish and fill it with cubed bread. In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until blended.

2

Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread cubes. Gently press the bread to soak fully. Cover and refrigerate the dish for at least four hours or overnight.

3

Next day, mix brown sugar with melted butter and pour it over the casserole. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and let the casserole sit at room temp.

4

Bake uncovered for 45–50 minutes or until the top is golden and center is set. If browning too fast, cover loosely with foil for the last 10 minutes.

5

Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with maple syrup, powdered sugar, or fresh fruit on top for an extra tasty breakfast treat!
