i began yoga in 2013 when a friend invited me to a hot power vinyasa class. i had been working in the beauty industry for 5 years and suffered from chronic pain, stress and bUrn out. i loved the way yoga encouraged me to be present and intentional with my body and mind. Yoga has touched every part of my life and has allowed me to live more mindfully, CONSCIOUSLY and step out of my thoughts and into my heart. after living in new york city for 2 years, i moved back to cleveland in 2018 and changed my career path in the direction of yoga. I opened sanctuary in the summer of 2019 to share peace, refuge and build a non-JUDGMENTAL atmosphere & community in nature for everyone who crosses our path. In my class you can expect challenging transitions, fun music, meditation and release. I encourage everyone not to take themselves too seriously. When im not at the studio, i enjoy cooking vegan food, gardening, traveling, antiquing, playing with my 3 dogs, creating art, hiking, reading and spending time with my beloved partner, family and friends.

growing up playing basketball, yoga seemed so foreign, which always kept me intrigued. A strengthening workout that lowers cortisol levels through breath and movement seemed like magic. While living in Washington DC, I was able to go deeper into the power of yoga and received my teacher training certificate through Corepower. I also met my mentor, Georgetown physical therapist and Yoga Journal magazine contributor, through a neck injury acquired from poor postural alignment at work and in my power yoga classes. Her therapy and anatomy mentorship has instilled my current passion, changed the way I teach to incorporate strong postural alignment and stability strengthening of the joints. When not teaching you can find me paddle boarding, hiking, spending time with family and planning my next trip.

favorite pose - all variations of pigeon

I was introduced to yoga while in grad school and quickly realized that it was the perfect fit for this former dancer and current runner. I had to opportunity to dive deeper into my practice by completing my 200 hour training through LifePower in 2013. As a mental health professional, my "real pants" job is a School Counselor, I love that I can bring my two passions together by teaching a class that weaves in aspects of mindfulness that can be taken off the mat. I am a firm believer that yoga is a practice for everybody and every body, so I create classes that are accessible to all students, at any level. I focus a lot on alignment, functional movement and use of props as a way to support and deepen one’s practice.

Restorative yoga - sundays at 12pm

I found yoga in 2009 when I attended a retreat in Yellow Springs, OH. I adored my instructor and the classes so much that I vowed to one day become a teacher myself. I love the accessibility of yoga - anyone with any body type and any fitness level can enjoy and benefit. I'm most interested in using yoga practice to cultivate a deeper mind-body connection, increase mindfulness and regulate the nervous system. Yin is my favorite style to teach because I believe there is immense value in learning to be still, receptive, and open. When I'm not teaching yoga, I enjoy chilling with my family, traveling, photography, thrifting, and cooking.

Favorite pose: patita tarasana (fallen triangle)

My journey with yoga started back when I was 10 years old. Every Saturday my dad and I would pop on a baron Baptiste dvd. I remember falling in love almost instantaneously. Growing up as a dancer, I loved the way the music in class would help me make sense of the emotions flowing through my mind and body. So when yoga entered my life I knew it would stay for a long time. It quickly became a safe space for me, almost like a cozy room outside of my home. Yoga helped me navigate through life with more softness, more beauty, and helped me live more mindfully. 8 years ago I took my 200 hour yoga teacher training in Thailand through Yoga Alliance. During my classes you can expect a diverse range of music used to empower the mind and body, challenging sequences married with restorative breathing all with intention of release. We hold on to so much throughout our lives and I believe that through the breath, peace is possible. Outside of yoga, I am a world traveler, reiki practitioner and well-established hairstylist. I am currently preparing to host for my first yoga retreat in March 2024. I love to spend my free time cooking for my friends and making memories with my nephews.

Gentle yoga, tuesdays at 6pm

At the age of 12, my uncle introduced me to meditation under a pyramid, accompanied by 50 people, and the irresistible lure of a chocolate reward. Fast forward five years a transformative Hatha yoga book from the same place ignited my daily practice. Growing up in an environment that cherished mindfulness and spiritual growth, coupled with being born in the birthplace of yoga, felt like a divine blessing. The seed of yoga firmly took root, fueling my eagerness to learn. I delved into the fascinating realms of yoga's philosophy, history, and intricate details. This ancient practice not only changed my habits, thoughts, speech, and posture but also grounded me through transformative breathing practices. Yoga turned my corporate job into a stress-free haven. The focus of my Hatha yoga teacher training extended beyond mere postures – it activated chakras, and the asanas, coupled with breathing techniques, sparked a profound awakening within me. The impact of yoga transcended the boundaries of the mat, seamlessly weaving into my lifestyle, emphasizing the simplicity of sensations over the complexity of postures. Now, in every class I lead, I aim to share not just knowledge but a tangible sense of calmness and pleasantness, offering transformative benefits to all. When I am not teaching yoga, I'm an IT professional, love cooking, playing badminton, and spending time with loved ones.
